Door Gas Strut Bracket

The door gas strut ball stud, mounting plate and fiber glass frame support are under maximum compressed pressure of the gas strut when the door is closed. Consequently, in time, gradual leaning of the ball stud begins followed by fracturing of the fiber glass and eventual pushing of the ball stud and mounting plate out of the fiber glass support.

A retrofit mounting plate kit corrects the condition permanently. No need to remove headliner or rear quarter panel.

The retrofit kit is complete and includes Mounting Plate, Replacement Ball Stud, Double Fasteners, and Description of Installation Proceedure.
